strange connections

There are two musical things Oliver is really into right now. I wanted to find him some new music to listen to that combined his loves. I think I did very well. He is stoked. He's the rockinest four-year-old I know, skipping all the ballads for "a cooler song." Here is the forumula I created.

How tough is it to be able find music you can both jam to? (This is Paul's cousin Alan, by the way)I managed to find the Irish Rovers on Cd, which is what Beth and I listened to as kids, and Gage loves it, but I think if I hear it again I'll go crazy. I heard an NPR show recently about some new kids albums that didn't sound half bad, butI hate to think of buying them only to find that Gage hates it.

Hi, Alan! The best kids cd EVER is Really Rosie--music by Carol King and words by Maurice Sendak. For the time being (and it won't be long) I am the only link the kids have to any sort of media--and they'll like what I tell them to like :) Or at least they can choose from the limited options I give them. So far we've lucked out. I'm totally fine with listening to Blues Traveler all day.

And hey--what's the etiquette? Congratulations? We'd love to meet Gage sometime! I hope things are going well for you guys.

It's fun to know you're reading the blog!
